Maria Euripides was born in Melbourne in 1950. She spent most of her working life in Office Administration. In her early thirties she took up art lessons in oil painting for a few years, and sold in the Moomba Art Show. Life got in the way, and she stopped painting and went into other things until her retirement 5 years ago. She started doing Water Colours at the Box Hll South Neighbourhood House.
She found it challenging, but at their annual exhibition, Maria sold quite a few of her paintings encouraging her to become more involved with her art. In 2017 at the Lilydale and Yarra Valley Show Maria came second in her section and also received Highly Commended
She recently painted around Port Fairy on site finding this a valuable excercise and has joined the Box hill Art Society. |
