Kristen Kinstler is an artist from Brisbane who relocated to Melbourne in 2014.
Born in Papua New Guinea, Kristen always wanted to be an artist when she "grew up". Her surname is actually German for "artist,"!
She studied art throughout high school and her work was first exhibited in 1997 as part of the Senior Art Student group showing. Since her school days, Kristen has taken part in numerous workshops and classes to further develop her skillset.
After 13 years of working in the insurance industry and neglecting her creative side, she decided to switch vocations and took up freelance graphic design and photography.
Recently, Kristen pushed herself to get back into visual art, and this year had her first collaborative exhibition with 2 other artists in January. She has since had her work featured in a public photography exhibition and was invited to include her work in a group exhibition.
Kristen has had her work featured in an exhibition at Oak Hill Gallery earlier this year and hopes to have her first solo exhibition soon.
Kristen is the Secretary of Committee and Social Media Manager of the Frankston Regional Artisans Network (FRANK Cre8 Inc.) and in the past year has finally returned to her true calling - creating art. |
