Waiting For The Moon by Inese Edwards

Features

ARTIST NOTES: This is a piece inspired by a scene in Broome Western Australia, when I was waiting to see the moonlight effect called Staircase to the Moon which occurs when the moon is rising and the sun has set. The moonlight reflects on the sandy ocean flats and makes an amazing reflection like a staircase to the moon. A beautiful sight. This painting is of the scene just before it had got dark and the moon was rising. The pink and blue/mauve sunset hues were stunning.I was sitting in the sea grasses as I was waiting. The piece is edged with a slightly rustic style wooden edge of Tasmanian Oak, which is to me the colour of driftwood. The side edge of the painting is 3 cms. wide.

ARTIST BIO

 Inese Edwarsa - Melbourne Artistst

I have worked with various media including pastels, water colour , and particularly oils.  I have also  tried other media in the form of resin paints, acrylics and alcohol inks, which lend themselves perfectly to abstract work. I have really enjoying painting pieces in fluid acrylics creating organinc and cell like structures and experimenting with the magical effects of these.

Currently I am fascinated with Australian eucalyptus trees , flowers and seed pods , which are particularly beautiful and I paint these in oils.

I also like to paint close up images of flowers and fruits and I like the effect of shine and transparency and light, sun and shadows. I like bold colours and abstract shapes and forms, and the abstract flow of paint and the surprises it leads me to.

I also like to do smaller pieces  and designs which I call minis, and creating hand painted mini pieces for greeting cards. A lot of my art and designs can be viewed on Instagram under @artplusart_inese.edwards

My work can also be found on Pinterest under Inese Edwards.

I have exhibited my paintings in approximately 23 shows including Melbourne and regional.
